More fun with the fox family...

I was excited yesterday to see an eagle on my way to work. It was flying over the Passumpsic River in Vermont. Today I saw another eagle at Lake Umbagog in NH. Unfortunately I didn't get great pictures...so I am recycling my visit with the fox family for Camera Critters Saturday.

Foxy Loxy...

We found a fox den under a church and the kits are almost full grown.

This one was cautious...

...but not this one...it kept coming closer and closer...

They live on a busy road...so I hope they will be safe!

Our darling boy...

Close your eyes,
Have no fear,
The monsters gone,
He's on the run and your daddy's here,
Beautiful,beautiful, beautiful, beautiful boy...

Before you go to sleep,
Say a little prayer,
Every day in every way,
It's getting better and better,

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful boy...

Before you cross the street,
Take my hand,
Life is what happens to you,
While your busy making other plans,

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful Boy,
Darling... darling... darling....darling boy.

This morning...

I am recycling this post for ABC Wednesday- G
for geese, goslings, and my garden...

I noticed that one gosling is significantly smaller than the rest...

I love to watch geese parent their goslings...

It was raining again last night...this morning I made the rounds in the garden...

My peony is about to open up...

The daylillies look vibrant under this overcast sky...

The raspberries are coming along...

...and it is getting harder to keep up with the salad bed.

Have a great day!

A morning ramble...

Yes, I know I have been posting many pictures of Lupine... but this is such a magical time of year.
I decided to take a morning drive and everywhere you look there are fields of Lupine.

...and more and more Lupine...

I stopped by airport marsh in Whitefield to find a family of geese out for a swim...

...and another family with some smaller goslings...

Then it was on to Twin Mountain where neighbors down the road from our camp have some beautiful horses...

The best part of the morning was finding a doe with a fawn in a  field...not sure if you can see them too clearly...but it was the high point of my day!

Lovin' the Lupine...

This morning I got up early. With coffee in hand and my camera beside me, I drove out to Sugar Hill to the Sampler field.

We had an electrical storm last night with pouring rain. Now the sun was coming out and the lupine were gorgeous! Although many come to see the lupine, I had the entire field to myself.

There wasn't a soul around but birds were chirping in every direction and bees and insects were buzzing about.

The Sampler field has a 'poetry walk' and I can't tell you how much I enjoyed reading verses and listening to the birds and the beauty of the lupine and the mountains.

“I scream, you scream”- The Rural Scoop on homemade ice cream in North Country NH

Located on Main Street in Bethlehem, NH right next to the Colonial Theatre is Rennell’s ice cream. Family owned and operated, all Rennell's ice cream is homemade. They rotate about 12 flavors of ice cream and frozen yogurt every week. You can find the traditional flavors such as vanilla and chocolate and other flavors that change daily and seasonally such as Almond Yippee, Raspberry Peach Melba, Pumpkin Pie and Eggnog. The inside has a mom and pop type feel with colorful walls, the décor is kitschy with moose memorabilia. They also offer café seating outdoors with a view of the Bethlehem Main Street. Rennell’s is open year round.

Located on Cottage Street in Littleton, NH in a mostly residential neighborhood is Bishop’s ice cream (founded in 1976) a destination for lovers of creamy homemade ice cream. This place is a cute little ice cream parlor decked out in green, pink, and burgundy with a display of vintage ice cream makers and milk bottles. Bishop’s also offers porch seating and picnic tables outside. You can find traditional flavors and some signature flavors such as Bishop's Bash and Grapenut ice cream. The servers are cheerful and appear to be high school aged. They are open from spring to Columbus Day weekend. Bishop’s was listed in Yankee Magazine as one of the five best ice cream stands in New England.

The Pink Shack Ice Cream stand in North Haverhill, NH is a little pink shed located next to a pink and mauve Victorian house, called Maple Cottage.  The Pink Shack offers homemade ice cream during the summer season and outdoor seating on picnic tables with views of farmland and mountains. We were greeted by an older Springer Spaniel who curled up at my feet under the picnic table. We tried some traditional flavors – Maple Walnut and Chocolate chip although I do love their homemade banana ice cream dipped in cherry hard dip. The flavors rotate.
